2007 Stargate Fan Awards Voting Open!

It's finally time! Voting is now open for the Stargate Fan Awards. You
can vote for your favorites until March 3, 2008 at
http://www.stargatefanawards.com/2007/index.php .

Yes, we're a little – okay, a lot – behind schedule, but we think the
delay is worth it and we believe you'll appreciate the final product,
too.

As in the past, anyone can view the nominated works, however, in order
to vote, you must create an account and log in. You can register for
an account at http://www.stargatefanawards.com/2007/captcha.php .

NOTE: You may already have an account on our main site if you
nominated works or have created an account there. Unfortunately, you
MUST create a new account on our voting site. Only this year's
nominees have current accounts and they can log in using their existing
account information. We apologize for this inconvenience and hope to
fix this issue before the next awards' year.

Your account will keep track of your votes. You may log in at any time
to see in what categories and for whom you have voted. Not only that
but, should you change your mind, you can modify your votes as many
times as you wish up until the closing date of March 3, 2008. Please
rest assured that we will not divulge your email address to anyone.
We adhere to a strict privacy policy.

For nominees, we have a special icon that you can place next to your
nominated work(s) on any website to let folks know that you are
nominated for an award. We will have these icons available within the
next few days. Please check the home page at
http://www.stargatefanawards.com/2007/index.php . We'll let you know
when we post these icons.

This year, we have nearly 2400 nominations, embracing the SG-1 and
Atlantis fandoms and encompassing both fan fiction and multimedia. So,

I don't know that this is the right place to put this, but I'm having a very difficult time reaching the '2007 Nominees' page. It just comes up blank except for the header.

I've tried different times and logging out and back in, reloading the page - all that sort of thing, but still, no luck.

I managed to get in once, after doing that log-in twice thing, but I can't get there again. I'd just begun reading and voting when I had to leave to do something else.

I also don't know if anyone else is having this problem. It's just strange.

Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

I am perplexed :) But I'm not the tech person so it's probably an easy fix. Please send our tech girls an email here: http://www.stargatefanawards.com/2007/contact.php and hopefully they can sort things out.

Odd, when I click on it it takes me right there... Have you tried clearing your cookies and dumping your cache? Those seem to be instant fixes for problems I have sometimes. Here is the direct email to our tech girls: web@stargatefanawards.com

Okay, I talked to one of our tech girls and this is what she said:


This appears to be a caching problem, either on their personal machine
or
on their ISP. Have them try this:

clear their cache
delete their temporary internet files
clear their cookies
exit their browser
start their browser
go here: http://www.stargatefanawards.com/2007/index.php
log in

If they still can't get the page to load fully, have them do a control
f5
to force their browser to go back to our server and load it from there
instead of wherever it's trying to load it from.


If that doesn't work then email her web@stargatefanawards.com and she can try more things with you.

I'm having the same problem with the site. I sent an email off through the Contact Us section,(it worked for me).

Geez, I thought I'd try it again and now I can't even login. That box just says 'Admin Only'

It's blank??? Does the text and stuff show up in the little SnapShots pop ups on this LJ page? I don't know, this is way over my head, I think your best bet is waiting for the tech girls to email you back. They're alittle swamped right now though so it might be a day or so.

Yup, I can see it in the SnapShot pop up, but when I click on the link (either place, actually) all I get is a page completely blank, except for the header/logo thing.

Okay, we've got plenty of time until voting closes, I guess.

That worked. I can now get on the site to vote.

I'm wondering if this might be something particular to Firefox. In any case, the fix worked.

I'm sort of glad that I'm not the only one having this problem. Yes, I'm on the right page, but all I get is the banner and nothing else. Tried using another machine and another browser, too. Have sent an e-mail to the tech girls. Am lighting a candle for hope.
