I have been enjoying all the submissions, this is awesome. Definitely holding me over till March 11th when Ark of Truth (http://stargate.mgm.com/) comes out.

don't mean to be a bother, but is there any eta for when the winners will be announced? Its been over a month since voting closed, and while I'm sure there's a lot of work to be done, it would help if I could have a general date...like, next month? next week? or soon?

Just wondering!

I was wondering the same thing. However, I'm guessing that since the above message hasn't been responded to for a few weeks, we still have a while to wait for this year's awards to officially end. Or is that last year's? Hmmm. I guess that's something to ponder while we await the announcement! :)

Yeah, still waiting...its been a month and just about 20 days now...that's longer than it took last year, and while I'm sure the team is quite busy with checking everything over, I am getting a little antsy...I check the website three or four times a day, and I hold my breath each time hoping that a different page will load...any word on whether things will be wrapping up soon? Or has the entire awards team been sucked into an alternate dimension?

What they said... plus - it appears that perhaps the event has exceeded the capacity of its volunteers to devote their time. No denying that they've done a stellar job in pulling it all together, but as more time passes without even an occasional posting that the end is in sight -- interest palls. Maybe 'this' years event should be a lot less labor intensive for those who give up their time? This was supposed to be fun, right?

yeah, I feel really bad because these people are giving up so much of their time to work on the awards, and yet still...winners? Please?

I'm so glad there are other people who are still anxious about getting the results! I've just emailed the awards team to ask them what's going on. Who knows if I'll get a reply.

I think they just really over-extended themselves with this session of the awards. I couldn't imagine having to sort through thousands of nominations and then put them on an enormous, interactive site. Maybe they should split the two shows into separate awards with their own sites and own awards teams. If that's still too much, they could split up the fanfic from the fanart. The people who run the McShep awards once a year have no problem going from nominations to announcing the winners within one to two months.

It's getting a bit ridiculous that we haven't heard anything yet. Even getting word that the awards are too much for them to handle and they've dropped the awards would be something. Right now, they're just leaving us hanging, which is really, really rude. It's been nearly a year since the awards started and that's just ridiculous. If they can't handle it, they should just say so and let others pitch in to help. I'd be more than willing to count some votes if that's what it takes.

I agree that it's just too big to expect anyone to be able to manage it. Two different shows plus crossovers; fanfic and fanvids and fanart; ship, slash, and gen; thousands of votes to count and hundreds of graphics to make . . . I'd be shocked if we saw results before July.

If that's the case, maybe the awards crew should put out a call for volunteers to help get this year's awards finished off. I know I could probably scrape together some time to lend a hand, particularly if it means accelerating the announcement process.

I'm sure lots of people would volunteer, but then there would be concerns about security and cheating and all that possible drama. I fear we'll just have to wait, and hope that the awards get broken up into more manageable chunks in the future.

To be honest, I think we've reached the point of ridiculous regarding 'the wait' and the ensuing silence - volunteers though they may be. Surely someone is active enough to post at least a one line update? A simple - 'Sorry for the delay - we're still working on this.' At this point, credibility has been shot to hell and 'who gives a damn' has now taken over... at least on my part it has. So lets move on peeps. They've done their best. Let's thank them for their valiant effort and put 2007 aside as an example of what not to do re over-extending ourselves. We all have RL to deal with.

Anyone up for 2008 nominations -- 2009 is closing in fast!

I think it would be silly to disregard this year, because then all of the people who got nominated but never found out if they won or not would probably want to get nominated again, along with all the new things out there, and it would just make for that much more work...
